Bigger doesn’t always mean better. But sometimes in cases like a king bed… It can be.
Just imagine, you’re standing in front of two gorgeous bedframes in our warehouse. One King, the other a Queen. Your brain is starting to short circuit.
Do you go for space, practicality, or aesthetics?
Let’s settle it with a guide to picking the right bed size for your sleep, space, and sanity.
Queen Size Beds – The people’s champion
153cm wide x 203 cm long
Perfect for:
- Most main bedrooms
- Couples who like to sort of cuddle but also need breathing room
- People who roll JUST A LITTLE in their sleep
- Folks upgrading from a double, or beginning/surviving their journey into adulthood
Pros:
- Easier to move (especially for the apartment dwellers)
- Fits most bedrooms without eating up all your floor space
- Usually more affordable than a King
Cons:
If your partner is a flailer of starfish sleeper, it might get a bit squishy
King Size Beds – The Sleeper’s Palace
183cm wide x 203cm long
Perfect for:
- Master bedrooms with generous floor plans
- Couples love each other, but not THAT much during REM sleep cycles
- Parents with kids/dogs/cats that sneak in at 3am
- Tall humans with long limbs and serious bedtime sprawling habits
Pros:
- Maximum personal space
- Luxurious feel and a wow factor
- Room for co-sleepers, midnight snacks, and four (or more) pillows each
Cons:
- Can be a squeeze in smaller rooms
- Heavier and harder to move
- Matters, linen, and bedframes cost more, so be ready.
If you’re still not entirely sure, ask yourself:
Do I have the floor space?
A king will dominate the room. Can you still open any wardrobes or walk around the sides?
Do I share my bed?
If yes, is your partner a snuggler or a space hoarder?
How tall am I?
Same length, but the width makes all the difference for stretching out
What’s my lifestyle vibe?
Do you love sprawling out with snacks and Netflix? Or do you sleep like a pencil?
