Simple Tips to Keep Your Furniture Fresh, Clean, and Looking Like New

Leather

When necessary, brush or vacuum away dust and grit. Wipe over with a soft, clean, dye-fast cloth.

Spots and Spills

  • Wipe excess liquid up immediately with an absorbent cloth or sponge.

General Cleaning

  • Clean every 3–4 months with leather cleaner followed by leather protector.
  • Always follow directions on product packaging.

Notes

  • Perspiration and body oils on arm pads and headrests may damage leather and require more frequent cleaning.
  • Leather may stretch and not fully return to shape over time with intensive use.
  • Avoid tugging on sewn-in cushions—this can cause tears.
  • Use all seating areas evenly to maintain cushion shape.
  • Pets are not recommended on leather furniture due to scratching and saliva damage.

Do Not

  • Expose to direct sunlight, heat, or weather.
  • Dry clean or machine wash.
  • Use saddle soap, detergents, solvents, abrasives, or silicone-based products.

Fabric

Regular Care

  • Protect from direct sunlight.
  • Vacuum regularly using low suction.
  • Rotate reversible cushions.

Cleaning

  • Do not remove cushion covers, even with zippers — this voids warranty.
  • Do not wash, dry clean, or shampoo clean.
  • Use hot water extraction machine. Professional cleaning recommended.
  • Use only upholstery detergents. Avoid dishwashing/laundry liquids.
  • Do not wet the filling.
  • Dry in shade, away from direct heat/sunlight. Let dry thoroughly before reuse.

Spot Cleaning

  • Do not rub or use solvents.
  • Treat spills/stains immediately.
  • Gently scrape soil or blot liquid.
  • Use proprietary cleaners per instructions. Do not saturate fabric.

Warning

  • Use only water-based soil-resistant treatments (no aerosols).
  • Pilling is not a fabric defect — it's a normal occurrence from wear and is easily removed with a de-pilling tool.

Pilling may result from friction, environment, or clothing fibres. It can be easily removed using a battery-operated de-piller from most haberdashery stores.

Outdoor

Cushions

  • UV exposure may cause fabric fading.
  • Do not leave outdoor furniture exposed permanently to elements.

Timbers

  • Timber exposed to weather may deteriorate faster.
  • Regular vacuuming and dusting is recommended.
  • Oil timber regularly (ask store for product advice).
  • Minor cracking is natural and doesn’t compromise strength.

Wicker

  • Regular vacuuming and dusting is recommended.
  • Do not pull on damaged weave—this may cause unraveling.
  • Exposure to weather may cause fading.

Timber

Natural wood variations such as knots and grain are not defects but unique characteristics of timber furniture. A multi-step finish is applied for durability.

Follow these care tips to maintain quality:

  • Dust regularly with a damp, lint-free cloth.
  • Always use placemats or hot plates to avoid heat damage.
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, moisture, and temperature extremes.
  • Wipe up spills immediately. Avoid alcohol, perfume, or nail polish near furniture.
  • Do not let plastic placemats sit directly on timber—chemicals may soften and damage the finish.

Glass Product Care

If glass is chipped or broken, stop use and contact us.

Warning

  • Use mats for hot/cold items — prevent direct contact with glass.
  • Do not sit or stand on glass surfaces.
  • Do not use glass as a chopping surface.
  • Do not strike glass with hard or pointed objects.
  • Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Fabric Spot Cleaning Tips

Fabric Cleaner Level 1:

  • Apply to a cloth, blot (don’t rub) until stain lifts
  • Dry with a cool fan or hairdryer
  • If stain remains, try Level 2

Fabric Deep Cleaner Level 2:

  • Apply directly to the stain
  • Blot with a clean cloth
  • Follow up with Level 1 if needed
  • Dry with a cool fan or hairdryer

Tip: When spot cleaning a cushion, unzip it and place a clean towel underneath the stain.

Always apply cleaners to the cloth—not directly to fabric.
